What is it?

I've been collecting unusual objects for quite a while, and several years ago I started posting them on this site as puzzles for visitors to figure out what they are. Most of the items are mine but a few belong to others, if you aren't interested in tools there are plenty of other type objects that have also been posted.

For first time visitors I recommend this archive for a wide variety of some of my best pieces.

    217. a chain breaker, removes the side plates on roller chain (same kind of links as seen on the side of this tool)

  • 215_ I believe this is more than just the tool . It looks like a cover for those very early auto valve stems with the core wrench built into the end.

    This is correct, threads start half-way up the inside.

    I think you have a great idea for a blog, but you need the answers someplace (perhaps in their own comment item posted later on) to explain what they are.

  • 225. is a tool used for flaring copper tubing. You insert the sharp part into the tube and twist and it flares it out. John Watson
