What is it?

I've been collecting unusual objects for quite a while, and several years ago I started posting them on this site as puzzles for visitors to figure out what they are. Most of the items are mine but a few belong to others, if you aren't interested in tools there are plenty of other type objects that have also been posted.

For first time visitors I recommend this archive for a wide variety of some of my best pieces.

357. 9-1/2" long

358. A close-up of something that used to be common

359. The foreground part is 3" long

360. This one is a pin mounted in a film canister, with a pin hole in the bottom of the container. Once again, the puzzle here is to determine the purpose of this small project.

361. A partial shot of something that I saw at the antique show last week.

362. 3-5/8" long

  • Deflection is in fact an angle used in saw blades

  • >Deflection is in fact an angle used in saw blades

Best guesses that I've heard so far are that it's used for adjusting the vanes in furnace air vents or that it's used with saw blades, I haven't been able to verify either one.
