What is it?

I've been collecting unusual objects for quite a while, and several years ago I started posting them on this site as puzzles for visitors to figure out what they are. Most of the items are mine but a few belong to others, if you aren't interested in tools there are plenty of other type objects that have also been posted.

For first time visitors I recommend this archive for a wide variety of some of my best pieces.

202. This tool belongs to someone else who is interested in finding out what it's used for. The frame is cast with the words "BATESON AUTO TOOL WKS ROME NY A1". The overall length is 20" from the end of the handle to the other end. It apparently mounts in a bench vise, there is a pad in the center of the C frame. The hand wheel adjusts the pad closer to the reamer/ spotface assembly. The button on the pad measures 1/2" and the reamer measures .505"
